“It is with great pleasure that I provide this testimonial for Yamba Welding & Engineering Pty Ltd. (YWE) at Angourie Rd, Yamba, New South Wales. I have been retired from the Queensland Police Service for some years and now maintain a personal friendly relationship with the management team and workforce at YWE and an interest in their projects & latest builds. I wish to confirm that I have dealt with Yamba Welding & Engineering since 2003, and in that time I have developed a high degree of respect for the integrity of the management team at YWE … read full testimonial here

“Since 1969 I have been involved in Flood Rescue Operations in New South Wales and worked very closely with the New South Wales Water Police (Small Boats Section and Flood Boat Crews) as training officer, and also as an Honorary Licensing Officer with the Maritime Services Board. It came to our attention that the “PRO-PUNT”, a flat bottomed vessel manufactured in Yamba, N.S.W. was very popular with oyster farmers as general cargo transport vessels in the North Eastern waters of N.S.W. .. read full testimonial here

“I bought one of the earlier versions of the PRO PUNT® in about 1991. I had seen the 20-foot version demonstrated, and ordered a 16-foot version, with trailer. From advice, the 16-footer came with a 25 HP motor, although I changed that at the end of only 12 months by fitting an additional 25 HP motor [which gave me a number of options in usage]. My decision to buy the PRO PUNT® was, I believe, a good one, as the boat, performed very well, was very stable to use and could carry more than I needed … read full testimonial here

“Having purchased an Ocean Cylinder 7300 in June 2002 for commercial use on Moreton Bay I have been approached by Yamba Welding & Engineering Pty Ltd to give a report on the operations to date and any comments. I am happy to do so because I have a great deal of admiration for the vessel’s design and application for our purpose. The vessel is currently in Queensland Survey with ability to carry 6 people with dive gear or one-ton load plus 2 people. It is powered by a 170hp, 4 cylinder Volvo Penta diesel stern drive … read full testimonial here

“I have owned my OCEAN CYLINDER® 6400 since 2003. YWE designed and built the boat, were extremely helpful and did all that I asked and required of them – based on their years of experience building aluminium boats. YWE also designed & built a specialised aluminium trailer for beach launching and retrieving. I enjoy the use of my boat and trailer and know that YWE are always there with their skills and technical know how – if and when I need them. We spend a lot of time in our boat and the OCEAN CYLINDER® has performed well under a range of conditions – it is very stable with a soft & smooth ride. Yamba Welding & Engineering Pty Ltd were easy to deal with. They are professional, pleasant & reliable, and had the technical/design skills to meet my specifications. I am happy to recommend this company as a reliable and experienced quality boat builder”.

“As owner and operator of oyster leases in Moreton Bay, our business has a fleet of barges that have been custom built by Yamba Welding & Engineering Pty Ltd over the past 4 years for specific application to the shallow waters around the oyster banks, and also for crossing the rough waters of Moreton Bay. All the orders have been handled in an expedient manner and completed within the time specified … read full testimonial here

“Our company operates Tourist Boats on the Tweed River in Northern NSW, Australia. In 1999 we commissioned a new aluminium boat from Yamba Welding & Engineering Pty Ltd – based on their shallow draft River Cat design with bow ramp access. They were able to adapt their basic design to suit our specific purpose and we are very happy with the result. The fully fitted 18.5m Captain Bill’s Explorer was launched on the 21st March 1999 to meet a tight deadline linked to a new overseas tourism contract that commenced in April 1999. As I said at the time of the launch – I am amazed that anyone could build a boat this large in 10 weeks. The speed and quality of Yamba Welding & Engineering’s teamwork is an unbelievable effort”
