“Our company operates Tourist Boats on the Tweed River in Northern NSW, Australia. In 1999 we commissioned a new aluminium boat from Yamba Welding & Engineering Pty Ltd – based on their shallow draft River Cat design with bow ramp access. They were able to adapt their basic design to suit our specific purpose and we are very happy with the result. The fully fitted 18.5m Captain Bill’s Explorer was launched on the 21st March 1999 to meet a tight deadline linked to a new overseas tourism contract that commenced in April 1999. As I said at the time of the launch – I am amazed that anyone could build a boat this large in 10 weeks. The speed and quality of Yamba Welding & Engineering’s teamwork is an unbelievable effort”
